There were 25 international soccer games in the United States this summer and the game at Williams-Brice Stadium had the second-highest attendance of any. It was the highest-attended game from the Rivals in Red tour with only Real Madrid vs. Barcelona at Met Life Stadium (82,154) winning out. Ohio Stadium, tOSU's football stadium, had the third-highest attendance hosting Chelsea vs. Man City for their Booty in Blue game, so two of the top three were at college venues.
Just thought it was neat to see Williams-Brice up there.

It would be interesting to see the list redone as percentage of stadium capacity. I was at Lincoln Financial for Arsenal v Liverpool (#4), and it was a sellout. If my numbers are correct Man U v Liverpool had a few empty seats.

Yeah, let’s definitely re-order it to make our showing look worse. It’s ridiculous we’re up there that high. Something we can do to minimize it, right?

That's not what I meant. I was more interested in how the various matchups fared head to head when comparing apples to apples. Arsenal and Liverpool seemed to draw more fans than Man U. Neither of the Man U matches were sellouts. My son is a huge Gunner and is a member of the Arsenal Football Club, so we went to Philly. Friends of ours who are big Man U fans drove to Columbia for the match from Arkansas where we all live.

“Tickets sold out within hours of the ticket box opening in February, with the presale opening on Feb. 27 and general sale tickets becoming the next day.”
Our game was a sellout. Not sure where you got that it wasn’t.

The numbers listed in the article and the pictures of the upper rows being empty. I don't get why you are thinking I'm bashing the statistics. If you look look at percentages the Liverpool v Man U game would have been fourth on the list at 96.6%. Arsenal v Man U at Sofi would be 5 at 88%. The one I found funny was Chelsea v Man City at Ohio Stadium dropping to 7 at 69%. Does that make Ohio State look bad? All these numbers tell us is who has larger fan bases in the US.

The little “man” syndrome with some is part amusing, part sad.
I’m not a soccer fan, but good on ‘em for coming over and touring the country.
Even to poor, little, no respect USC and Columbia, S.C.

And the Gameco*cks led the country for attendance at Men’s NCAA soccer games, even with the program being a dumpster fire right now.
There is no reason Clemson should be so much better at soccer than us. I think Tanner needs to take it more seriously and hire a coach worthy of such a proud program.
The attendance for this matchup and our Gameco*ck attendance can and should be used to help recruit a great coach and great players.

USC and the Columbia area obviously as that influx of an estimated $12 million during the dead period around Columbia sure helped a lot of businesses. Add in the free cost of advertising for both and a huge amount of ppl care.
